Receptions

Although you may have set out to hire a DJ, you get much more when you hire Uptown Sound. We like to consider ourselves more of a "host," in addition to being your DJ and MC. Not only are we the voice of your wedding, but we're also there to make sure you and your guests are having a great time, which goes beyond just playing songs.

It's not uncommon for us to help greet your guests, and we always coordinate things with your other vendors. On occasion, we've even helped serve cake (when there wasn't a catering staff) or passed out sparklers for the end-of-the-night send-off. In short, wedon't want you to have to worry about anything on the day of your wedding!

Custom Edited Dances

Being the only one on the dance floor (along with your dance partner) can make a few minutes seem like a really long time. As a benefit to you, and at your request, we create shortened, custom edits of your special dances. If your father/daughter song is longer than a couple minutes, we will carefully edit it to a shorter length. This sounds much better than simply fading out in the middle, leaving the song with a beginning, middle, and end.

Customized Playlists

Your reception should be a combination of the things you love with the people you love. Music is no exception. We want to make sure we play the music that fits your style and avoid playing the songs that make you cringe when they come on the radio. For that reason, we create a customized playlist for each wedding and event.

Timeline Coordination

We're more than just the average DJ/MC. Your overall experience with Uptown Sound is of the utmost importance to us. That's why we not only assist with creating the timeline for your reception, but we'll coordinate with the other vendors to make sure everything flows smoothly. For example, we'll make sure the photographer is ready to take pictures of you cutting the cake before we make the announcement.

Additional Sound

Are you planning to have a cocktail hour in a foyer or on an outdoor patio? You probably need a speaker or two for background music and announcements to be heard in those areas. We have the equipment to cover any size room and the ability to put sound in areas other than near the dance floor. Please let us know when requesting a quote if you think additional speakers may be needed.
